yeah my friend thought the same thing when we first saw the cab on the pickup but what you cant see in the picture is that its been tboned pretty good...you can stand on ground where the drivers seat and floor should be.

i kinda feel dumb for asking now finding out its a ford. but it makes sense why i liked the rusty pile so much since all i own is fords. so it only seems right to not let it rust away in the woods i like the swooping fenders and the headlights and i like the rear suicide doors...i guess the next thing is to try and get it out of the dirt and up the hill side without damaging the car anymore then it already is

The side shown looks unusually good for a woods find...usually there's a ragged brown edge 3 inches below the door handles where the dirt line is.

You must look DEEPER, DEEP into the SOUL of the Red X. See the car?? And behind that, the ESSENCE of the car? And the rattlesnake right next to the photog's foot??

  22. That small tag on the firewall that's just above the "X" on the left side would tell you exactly what it is.

No, that is a plaque listing some of the more important Ford patents covering the car. Serial will be on the frame (also on trans, but too late) and will identify it as '37 from the sequence and tell whether it was a 60 or 85.

Looks like pretty good sheet metal. You'll need to get a truck with a rollback on it to get down there under the car before you drag it up. Take some old car tires with you to throw under it as it slides. They reduce damage as its sliding.

  26. Thanks for correcting me. I'm just used to the tags on GM's telling me everything I need.

yep right on its a 1978 yz400 i also have a 77 yz400 with the steel swing arm and a little longer forks, 1981 yz465, 1989 cr500r, 1980 mx100 my first bike, an 82 dr250 the bike of shame "the loaner" and a 96 cr125 thats all raced out. im a whore for older air cooled 2t...i just gotta find my last bike an 1981 maico 490 and all in life will be right.

the problem is that hill isnt really as shallow as it looks and the road is kind of narrow so im not sure i could get it up the hill theres a road thats goes below it i was thinking it might actually be easier to go that way rather then fight the hill

Might want to find out who owns the land before helping yourself to it.

the car is on tribal land. i was talking to my dad about the car and he actually remembers seeing the car when he flagged the road in many years ago for logging. now he works for environmental trust and he said as long as i dont cut down any trees or damage the environment that nobody is gonna stop me from taking it and that they would actually like to see it go away.
