The '41 Plymouth you are looking at in Burgandy has a '41 Lincoln Zephyr grill and '37 ford headlights. I was leaning that way myself. If you surf the web you will get a lot of ideas, I won't share them all. LOL

hmmm?...little it confused by your post powhatan42...but think you mean the '40 Desoto in post #15. But you are right, inspiration can be found in a lot of places. I am very curious which direction you will take.
    Anyhow...

I am really looking for pictures of the Japanese Plymouth only. The car alway was a reference for me when I started out with my Plymouth and I am just curious what happened to it. As it seems to have disappeared.

  3. Definitely a gorgeous car. No clue about it though. Kinda interested about it now.

    Thinkfink,

Yeap #15 in the middle is a Zephyr, they look very similar to the Plymouth Coupe. I surfed the web and found a '42 Plymouth coupe with Zephyr front clips. I like the grills on those Zephyrs from '37-'42. I am either going to get the grill or fabricate one that is quite similar for my "40 Coupe.

...sure it is not the cepeda desoto you mean in #15?

    http://public.fotki.com/Rikster/11_..._i_like/desoto_custom_cars/1940_desoto_coupe/

...there is also a 42 with the zephyr front end, used to be in brown primer, got sold on 'bay 2-3 years ago...and they look very close.

Anyhow, i am sure you built will be great, so send pix, I am really curious and your plans sounds interesting.

...and now back to the Japanese '41 please.

Here's a dark period in new hot rod history...It's a music video...at about 1:20 you'll notice the dancer on the top of the far left car is hopping up and down on the rrof of a chopped 41 plymouth. The car is available for sale in the valley, the chop is actually very good and the roof was reinforced with wood for the shoot so don't fret it didn't do too much damage, it's not the car you're looking for, but it is a chopped 41 plymouth. watch the video with the sound OFF. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=saxnXiBKEaY

Thanks a lot for contributing. To answer your question...the Eindhoven car...

features a Dutch guy, that imported the car and now sold it to Italy...

And unfortunately due to the stupid German Copyright control i can't watch the other video you posted :(

    Thinkfink,

Just play the video, pause where you want take a digital photo, or take several photos of the car from various angles. Pull out you Sd card and you will have your J-peg photos.

Thanks for the helpful advice. the video does not show the car in an optimal way unfortunately.
And... It still is not the car that I actually look for.
So another bump on the search for the lost Japanese 41 Plymouth.
