After looking at a lot of options to lower the front of my F100 I knew i wanted to keep it a solid axle. But many drop axles for my era f100 were just not going to be low enough. Then I saw a 1954 chevy pickup that was in the gr*** and it had a tube drop axle and found out Russ Meeks was the man to see. So I handed the truck over and told him i want it in the weeds.. Have pics of the progress so far.
Nice! Good to see someone still rockin the stepside, too. What's yer clearance in the front, and how much in the back?
The leaf springs were moved the out side of the frame rails and the rear spring mounts up three inches and the steering shaft shortened 5 inches.
Can you pm me Russ' phone number? I would like to catch up with him and ask him a few questions. Thanks
Looks great,Russ has done alot for me on different cars over the years and still has my 48 chevy biz coupe at his house..............Back in the early days Russ mentored (worked) for Gene Winfield............
yeah its stock, different front springs, i just removed all mounts and made my frame and put it all on like this, turned out pretty cool, haha this is the only way i could think about lowering it with the stock axles
thanks, it was a lot of work and a learning exsperience for sure, ive changed the back wheels to 16in F-1 style wheels with ford half moon style caps, just gotta find 2 more wheels and caps now lol
