I am buying a bunch of stuff from this one guy (BBC Chevy stuff and maybe a project car or two) and I ran across this body yesterday while looking at his "stash". The SBC doesn't go with it, it's just the body and winshield frame. I didn't make an offer on it because I really don't know what it's worth. Anybody have a clue??? Anybody interested in it??? PM me, or email me at oldhotrodder1@yahoo.com or call me at 912~278~1314
It's worth whatever you're willing to pay for it. I'm of the $500-1000 mindset, but I think its pretty cool myself. It'd be nice to have a backseat for cruising with the family.
Of course a guy from Texas thinks that's rusty. I'd say up to a grand, around here that'd be a fairly easy sell. You could offer $500 or $600 for it and it'd be a good deal but certainly not an insult.
Show me where I can buy a stack of those in the same shape for $150-$500 a shot and I'll take them all, because I can at least double my money on every one - the cheaper they are the more I'll make.
Its a 1923-25 T touring car body. Something is funny about the drivers side, look at the curve at the bottom behind the front "door". Was this set up as a roadster at some time and the back half was added from another car? You'd have to buy a wood kit for it. Value is $600-$1,000 IMO.
Seems like just the wood kit for one is around $1200. If all the woods is good $1000 seems like a good price. I have one that is a little more "incomplete"
Thanks for all the interest and feedback, guys! I bought it in a "package deal" and really just bought it to resell, so I put an ad in the Classifieds. As usual the HAMB comes through with some great info!
As I was looking through the stuff I bought with the car, I came across three stamped registration plates about 1 1/2" round, dated 1925 and 1926. They are mounted to a piece of wood. I'll post some pics tomorrow.
I saw this for sale, his asking price is good. Plus it's an early body...they are harder to find. Looks complete, and it still has the windshield on it which is amazing. 800 to a grand is what its worth.
Flordia had registration tags like that too, only said Flordia. I have several around here some where. They nailed them to the floorboards.
