Alright guys its time to paint my old '53 pilothouse and I'm having a tough time choosing a color so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on possible colors to paint it. The photos are the original and what I had in mind. Thanks in advance for the help!

that blue looks nice. i think a not too dark color on those trucks looks right. are those the years they painted all the beds black originally?

I'm not sure about the black beds, I have seen people do it, but my bed was definitely green. I was also looking at some orange/ copper color but something always draws me back that flat blue.

Not that I know of, the inside of the cab is all the same color as the bed, from what I've been told it was called dodge truck green and was used through the 60s, but who knows haha

That sounds pretty cool, if only it had some sort of stainless trim to break up the colors much like belairs have

I'd use a color original to the year of the truck or there abouts. They had a great looking green or the blue is cool too.

  10. In my opinion like banginona said something close to the original color year , you can't go wrong. Green I think would look nifty.

Well now that I think about it, the stock green would be a good choice because the dash has really nice original paint on it and I would hate to sand it off.

I actually did a photochop of one several years ago, and I used the radiused front fender opening on the rear too. I'd like to see it happen!!

that truck is screamin out for a nice cream color and you pick a wheel color to accent it. orange maybe.

  15. I think it needs two tone paint.

    parchment and :
    robins egg blue
    Lighter green
    Orange
    Maroon
