Wow. That's an awesome story. I wouldn't touch the paint on that car. Afterall it took 100 yrs to get it looking that way.

    great, great story!

I'm all for never painting it. Old paint like that tells a story. Perfectly painted cars are a dime a dozen.

  6. I love stories like that. Thanks for sharing.

  7. Truly Heartwarming. I think people have such a hard time parting with something that is such an important symbol of their past, especially when it is connected to other people and places that are now gone. Letting Gene share in the resurrection of the Edsel is truly a gift to him. Thanks for the story. Its a great reminder that old car stewardship is bigger than just acquisition.

  8. Go take him out for the Fourth! Really, before its too late.

I have finally got mine on track.
We're going to take it from Texas to CA on Route 66 in April 2012.
Maybe we can hook up in AZ,...........hell follow us up to Viva! ;)

    2 rootbeer floats-$6.99, 1/2 a tank of gas-$30, seeing a 90 year old man tear up with joy-PRICELESS!

These memories will stick with your son for a lifetime.(and subsequently doom him to a life of old car addiction, and enevitably an upset wife at least once or twice.):D
