I built a "woody". Look at my avatar photo. I might have a few more photos. Be glad to answer questions. Many of the commercial bodies were built by local body builders on a commercial ch***is. Do a google search for online copies of books by "****s" they have lots of body & ch***is info from the teens & twenties. A online dealer sells woody body hardware like latches & hinges online. Lots of old time body hardware can be found from old horse drawn wagons & buggies. Studebaker & other companies built wagons before they built cars & trucks - the parts sort of just evolved.

I am not trying to rain on your parade. I have spent the last two years making little pieces of wood from big pieces of wood. First step is to make a plywood mock up of how you want the body, 3/8" plywood will hold its shape. This can be done with a saber saw or sawzall. Mount the mock up on your frame or a 2x4 wood mock up frame. You need wood working equipment, saber saw, router, table saw, belt sander, various hand planes and if you are going to change wood deminsions you need a power planer. With your plywood mock up figure out every minor detail you can think of. Straight panels are a lot easier then curved panels. Mounting the body and body structure, is it going to be all wood framed or metal tubing with wood skinning? Check out ablebob woody album and my woody album. Good luck duane

Ford's "C" cab was only a pickup type cab and was metal over a wooden frame. To see how one went together, try Howell's sheet metal. Thier catalog has always had an exploded view of a "C" cab www.fordor.com
