The hubcaps on the right side are 54 Cadillac and the hubcaps on the left side are 57 Lincoln Premier haha.

Im leaning toward the visor because theres already holes drilled in the driprail

Not a visor fan for any car, but if you must... Looks good as is, even the L & R hubcap deal is cool!

If you have grandchildren, wear an old felt hat all the time you aren't in bed or the shower, smoke Lucky Strikes or Chesterfields or a drugstore pipe and came out west to get away from the dust bowl, you might be a candidate for a visor.

The visor was the first thing that got put in the trash when I was young and we bought the car from the above described person's widow...

Nice Poncho! Now continue the cream top down the trunk lid to just above the chrome "wings" and stripe the seperation from the green.

    Thanks for the responses guys.
inlinr6: I have skirts, but they dont go to the bottom of the wheel well so i tihnk they look goofy, anybody know of a solution?

DrJ: i happen to be wearing a dark brown felt hat (with a feather) right now! And since i decided not to do my hair today, yes, it has been on since I woke up

I was looking through little books and saw that most kids took off the visor, but I found one 50s custom that did have a visor recently.. so that does sway my decision a bit, besides, the Reno sun aint easy on the eyes!

Those would be fairly easy to fabricate, did a set for a 54 belair, but the car looks good as is.

Good lookin' mild custom. You went with two-toned paint, which imo gives it a stockish vibe, so I think the visor will fit the theme. I think a visor visually lowers the roof of an unchopped car too. Which color ya gonna paint it?

An idea for the short skirts. - Maybe you could find a nice wide piece of stainless trim to modify and fit the bottom of the skirt to extend it some. If you need to, maybe add a strip of sheetmetal first, as a backing for the trim.

    i say visor.
Car looks good, its a bit of a missing link between custom and bomb.

  22. Yes to the visor. I may be a bit biased though. I dig the grille treatment.

I also agree with Dr J with bringing the cream color on to the trunk lid. Seperating the two colors with a simple pinstripe would be cool and use the same pinstripe color around the cream by the tailights.

I know what you mean about the skirts....I have been contemplating "extending" skirts too but I have a stainless trim piece the runs across the bottom that I do not want to fab.

Thanks again for all the feedback. I think i will go with the visor, because it does visually lower the roof and I already have it painted the cream color.. As for the skirts, does anybody know of any good cruiser skirts? Those can easily look realy good or REALLY bad. Ive seen some fiberglass ones on eBay?

The car's looking great in that color ... I vote for the visor, partially because I hate unused drill holes, and partly because I like visors. But I'm just a young punk, what do I know :D Interesting idea with the hubcaps ... even if I had a full set of both, I probably wouldn't be able to choose either!

That wire separator on the motor is pretty trick too, is that an old aftermarket piece? And what kind of devil-beast battery is that! Makes my giant six-volt battery want to pee itself just lookin' at it.

hah well i do actually have a full set of the caddy hub caps..just couldnt decide. I put on the visor, it looks a lot better. ill put up pics tomorrow hopefully.. along with pictures of what i started with. Im unsure about the wire separator, but i havent seen another poncho with one. haha and about that battery... its a 12 volt. i dont know much about it, it came with the car. I know Batteries Plus has 'em!!
