Yeah really. It says a 5000 hour restoration. In the bay area the "insurance rate" is $67 an hour where I work (our street rate is $85). So at $67 an hour that's $335,000.00. Not to mention the purchase price of the car and all the parts and materials. Poor guys probably losing money on this one :D :D :D :D

5000 hours is 2-1/2 man years of labor ... not possible

  16. Maybe its the same guy thats selling THESE

  17. Ouch most of the car looks like it was done 1992 (the dash tail lights 3rd brake light). Hell someone can buy mine for about $19000 running and mines not full of bondo. I dont know what color to paint mine I'm torn between pink and purple

For that much I'd at least like to see a shot of it with the hood open.

That's a clone of the Doane Spencer Roadster. I could see myself driving that one. Blue instead of black so that it isn't an exact clone which might be a good thing.

Reading the fedback it looks like that seller advertises cars for other people and doesn't have the cars him/herself.

Of course it is. Shops that do high end restoration and custom build stuff will regularly have 3, 4 or more guys working on them and some of those types of builds can take years. We had a 41 Ford Truck in my shop a couple of years back that had over $250,000 in labor in it when we got it, and I'd say it was maybe 50% done. Every body panel was modified and reshaped and all of it in steel and lead, not plastic - just metal working skills.
The Newmad that SAR did had 24,000 man hours in it - go to their site to see it under completed projects.
So you see, it is very possible to have 5,000 hours in a car.

It also cracks me up how all these people have to rag on it and the asking price. Who cares? What difference does it make? Does it make you feel better about the pile that you have, if you even have a car. Just more HAMB drama Bull Shit (Not directed at anyone in particular)

He's trying to get the gold chainers to try and out puff their chests. Those are some of the uglier seats I've seen in a long time...
