So I went for a ride/drive with some of my friends up to Filmore. Theres a neat old town with an old train station and some antique stores. In one store I was walking out and I saw this on a rack with about 100 other keychains. I love things like this. It totally belongs on the keys of an old custom.

RPW came across some info on these a couple of days ago.. and he noticed its the exact same shape as the Kustoms tag that Bob Hirohata had made for his 1951 Mercury. So most likely he used on of these... possibly the backside and engraved it.... Kustoms of America 1953 - 54 Great find
I have 3 of those... and even rarer key fob is the GM opening day at their tech center which is a tear drop and aluminum
If you search "Motorama" on Ebay you will see multiples of this one, the 1954 and 1955 tokens...really neat keychain items...if you have a GM car of course..normally you can score one for $10 or under shipping included.
I have two of those;both acquired at the Motorama when it came to Boston in 1956.I was 12 years old at the time and the show and souvenirs were both a memorable thing to me.One I keep in my desk drawer and the other is on the key chain in my 1955 Safari.
Awesome. I'd never seen one and I was super excited to find one. Hells yes I bought it!!!!! Thanks for all the info about it. Great pic also.
I'd say cute reproductions sold to women, they make good can openers so the ladies don't break their pretty painted nails. DUB
My contribution to this , a model of the 56 G M C L'Universalle in 1-25th scale : Oh I made it several years ago........ scrubba
It'd be cool if a man could 'blow it up' and make it into a gas pedal. Either way, that's just cool. History and Nostalgia are always cool. Neat about the Barris thing as well.
heres mine with my 55 buick key! I found this at estate sale 10 years ago in a old time tool box ... im glade to see theres people out there that fill the same about cool stuff like this...
