Hey A buddy bought a 1959 cushman scooter looks like this

will it run on unleaded...it is all original and a blast to drive with the foot clutch and hand shift, but its out of fuel and I was wondering if unleaded would fly for this ride

It might not like alcohol fuel though.

Had one in the late '50s. Ran out of gas. Asked my father to take me to get some. He said just put some kerosine (paint thinner) in the tank. Said that they would run low compression car engines on it during WWII because it wasn't rationed. Put it in started right up and I couldn't tell the difference.

they're fine on unleaded, don't bother with lead additive... and even the E10 will be ok..

  12. I sold off my scooters a while back. Kept a Whizzer because I cannot be without some goofy contraption to keep a smile on my face. Life ain't bad at 30mph.
I rarely rode the last Cushmans that I had because I also had a Mustang

is it 2 stroke or 4 stroke. 2 stroke no worrys . no valve guides or valves that would need lead for lubrication. 4 stroke its just a over grown lawn mower engine. if you are concerned just use a little lead subs***ute.
