Rack and pinion adaption?

I want to put a rack in my '62 Ranchero. I dont want a $2000 kit. I want to do some research.Is there a place on the net where maybe you can put in a part number or car and find spec's on length, turning radius, thread size on the inner tie rods,ect.I know bout bump steer being a concern. Nope.

Go to the Ford Falcon Network Forum and you will find some conversions using other brands of racks.

 

I belong to most Falcon chats and someone with a differnt opinion suggested a rack from a late '80's VW Rabit and wanted to check it out and see what the posssibilities are.Two problems are rear steer and turning radius. Then if that works than tie rods. Thanks Ken N.
