I found it. Sweet talked, and kissed a little ass. (Well alot) 5 months of phone calling, door knocking, and e_mailing pays off. The plan for today is to get it on the road and put as many miles as I can on it . Then once my window of weather closes do a little more work to it. Like paint interior and so on. Here it is. I will keep ya posted on the progress as it happens.

now that you have it you can get some scope to forget the kissing part , and drive it like a boss , great score ,

  6. It's good to see they're still out there.

I've had a few '47 and '48' aerosedans. The first one was a '48 that I bought from my wife's Grandmother in 1964 to be my daily driver. She had retired it in favor of a used '60 Falcon. We drove it home the 60 miles and listened to the factory AM push-button radio while we were at it. Picked up a new set of recap wide whites and fixed it up...

Ditto on the thread title. I grinned ear-to-ear before I even saw the car.

Mom had a '47 like this. Brother and I had spare keys made, and we 'borrowed' it from her place of employment. Hit the highway. Pedal to the metal, of course. Brother was 14. I was 12. We went three miles at a breathtaking 85MPH wide open, before it puked its guts out. Turns out it was only water out the radiator. We coasted to a stop at a farmer's horse tank. Such knocking you never heard. (Not the Chebbie.... our knees.) We refilled it and limped it back.

If the dear soul ever knew (Mom, not the Chebbie) she never let on. Of course, if there's HAMB in heaven, now she knows. :)

    Congratulations on your find.

Sweet ride! well worth all the ass kissing it took to buy that ride. I have been looking for a 47-48 fleetline in that shape. I'm jealous. Fix what it needs to be safe and drive the shit out of it.

I kinda left out the part about it being a one family car. Guy I picked it up froms Grandfather bought it new. Went threw the brakes yesterday. Put 200 miles on it today. Smiles all around. I'll post a pic or two soon.

So I pulled the Engine, re-gasketed it and picked up a set of tires. For today I'm just gonna drive it as is.

we stopped at that old mans house a few years back heading out there to pick up a different vehicle. we had an empty trailer going out there and turned back to ask him about that car. told us the same thing so we kept going towards our destination talking about how it would have been nice to go back home with that car.

Did you find that in Olympia? I've always got my eye out for cars in the rural parts of Oly town when I'm through there.
Great score and it looks sharp with the wide whites!!!
