Hi all from sunny perth aust. I have been aflicted with the sidevalve disease and have a current collection of about 32 engines. Have 2 x cars on the road at the moment a 1945 Jailbar ickup with a 59A flathead and 5 speed toyota supra gearbox and a 46 super deluxe sedan with stock flatty and 3 speed, great family crusier. I recently purchased an AJS 350 side valve bike as well. Current project is an all steel 33 ford roadster running a blown flatty with the trusty 5 speed combo again.
brother I've been doing a bit of housework on my EH Panel van.It had a steel case Celica five speed which was digesting itself due to a lack of attentiono) .Now I have a 4 speed that was lying around so I'm gonna whack that in.....the five was a short extension , the 4 is a long ....are they interchangeable? ......they don't look entirely the same but I'm prepared to be surprised.the shift loops aren't but can I change the extension housing and the shift shaft? ....at the moment I'll just be cutting and shutting the floor again...that's probably the easiest option anyway....anyways , welcome to the board. Dr Goggles Belly-tanks, Holdens ,and guitars!!
Welcome from the pist'n broke state!!!! Some details on that blown flathead would be nice. Did you fabricate the manifold/carb adaptor/drive snout etc yourself? Drive ratio and psi boost figures/ estimated hp? Cheers, JamesW
