I am looking for advise on installing a 4" droppped super bell with 4 bar on it. I get the squareing thing but what about the axle sit plum up and down .could someone please walk me through the wright way to install . the motor will be a old 302 ford with auto the rear end will be maverick 8" thank you for your advise. it been great in the past. terry
The two 4 bar kits I bought both came from Pete & Jake and came with instructions, which I no longer have. This was when it was owned be the orginal P&J. The axle does not sit plum up and down, but has a slight rake to it, around 6 to 7 degrees laid back. Most repo crossmembers and orginal front crossmembers have this built in. I have seen many bent front springs that are a result of not having the front end set up right. Maybe some one on here still has there instructions for installing a 4 bar and will share. Good luck and hope this is a start.
Try this: http://www.totalcostinvolved.com/instruction_det.cfm?ManualID=281 Your bar lengths may be slightly different, but the principle is there.
