Original color on my 48 Dodge. Looking to change the wheel color, maybe a buff color. My Wife says it looks like Christmas now that the car is shinny.
My wife 1979 ford truck is dark green poly thats the factory color of her truck it's close to british raceing green I can post a pic if you would like...
I'm using 2 shades of 32 Ford Brewster green on the 32 Vicky I'm building. Painted the frame the "medium" Brewster and it has a shade the looks like a dark British racing green (least what I remember as BRG, kinda dark blueish green). Really a nice dark green, flops to black almost in low light. Haven't used the "Light' Brewster yet but in the can it's just a lighter shade, might be closer to BRG. FWIW I got the paint from TCP Global restoration shop in a single stage urathane and it sprays and buffs great. Sorry, no pics except in low light, just looks like black
Man, lot's of really nice dark greens posted here. That Jag green and the Miatta green are my personal favorites right now. Thanks, everybody! I still would like to identify this color. I was told it might be Westminster or Connaught green, both used on Morgans. Anybody know?
British Racing Green isn't just one color. There are various shades used by different manufacturers, ranging from a medium green, to one with more blue in it, to those that look almost black. Here's some history: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_racing_green
I really like this green colour. 1952 Chevrolet Emerald Green #470 http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/models/paint4954.htm http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedisplay.cgi?year=1952&manuf=GM&rows=50
Sorry but I don't have a paint # but several years back we painted my '36 Ford a dark green (non metalic of course) that I have been so happy with. Looks black in the dark and very similar to a dark green in a Ford color chip book I once had. We found the color from a 1970's (?) Jeep. Looks kinda like the emerald green in the chart posted above by 52Poncho. Can't go wrong with dark green!!!!
Looks like the Moggie is Westminster green. Here's one for sale to compare: http://www.hemmings.com/cl***ifieds/carsforsale/morgan/plus_8/1195984.html
Here's pics of my fleetline. Not sure of the exact shade of green, but it looks almost black until you really get close.
Here is my old duece sporting BRG. When I asked about BRG at the paint suppliers back in the 80's they told me there were three different codes/mixes. What you see it the lightest of the the three. As Gordon Gekko said; "green is good".
Check the paint codes for 1965 Ford Galaxie,my brother had a 65 2-door and it was deep dark green from the factory.Might be cheaper to buy too.
Here is my just finished roadster. The color is off a 2007 Jag I think. Looks green in sunlight, black at night.
Yeah thats the famous Maltby cafe not my house. Here is a still shot from my front drive surveilance camera it records and I can get live feeds on my iphone
My first set of wheels was a 1979 Chevy truck that my dad had bought new. It was a real nice non-metallic dark green. It wasn't a popular color on the trucks, but I always loved it. I think it would look great on an older ride. Might be worth checking out...
I owned a '91 BRG Miata, its an awesome color easy to match and cheap relatively speaking. It is also called Neo Green and likely the same as the Jags. Ford, Mazda, Jag all slept in the same bed. I have well over 100k miles looking over that BRG hood and I'd paint a rod that color in a sec.
