Trying to get my vortec hooked up to a muncie trans. It took 5 tries until my parts guy got the correct pressure plate that would bolt up to the flywheel and that kit came with a fine spline clutch disk (I need a 10 spline disk). The 10 spline disk that they keep getting is 11" dia. and I need a 10 1/2" disk with 10 spline. Does anyone know what car / year the 10 1/2" disk with 10 spline center is used? If I can get that info for my parts guy he can punch it into his computer and get my project moving.
The one I used was for a 1977 camaro with a 350 and a 4 speed. When I was the store manager for NAPA I searched for hours. The way of the parts guy with a paper catalog is gone unfortionatly.
actually, you might want to try o'riley they actually have there catalogs in order, (well they are supposed to anyways) and have all paper catalogs, ya just need to find a counter guy that will look through them lol....
Look at Chevy pickups also. Most any from the '70-'80s. Zoom and others offer clutch sets ready to go for this deal. Look for their crate motor applications.
I got one at O'Reily's for a '80 Corvette with a 4-speed, 10.5" 10-spline center, for around $30. Even got the lifetime warranty. Didn't tell them it was going in a circle track car.......... Lots of folks overlook circle track catalogs for parts, there's lots of swapping and interchanging involved when building a circle track car, just like building a hot rod.
First Gen Z28 or ss 350 camaro should be correct a**** many others. I may be wrong but about any smallblock 4 speed from the late 60's /early 70/s should be 10 1/2" 10 spline the HP&Big block stuff was 11 and the fine spline started in the mid 70's I think 74 maybe?
I used a Zoom "crate motor" clutch set up. Check Summit and Jeg's online.They also list indivdual pieces.A note;the Zoom clutch set was only about 120 bucks and made in China.....I believe Ram is made in USA for the same money.For 250 bucks you can look at Hays.
