Well we just got home from the cruise and it was awesome. I really didn't know how many people would show up. I rolled up to find at least 10 cars had arrived before me and it was on. Before it was over I counted at least 70 cars, 4-5 vespas, 10 or so motorcycles, some 4wheel drive trucks and about 150 spectators.

Thanks to everyone that showed up. This was exactly the kind of event Eric would have wanted. In fact, before he died we were planning a car show and cruise that probably would have been a lot like this. Maybe we will do it again next year.

Here a some shots from the day. I'll add more later.

  7. John,I will put all my pic's on this thread,if that's okay. That way, there will be one place to find the coverage.
Had such a great time. Got there early and had breakfast with Dullchrome,Chevy54 and JustplainJ. GOOD EATS!!!
Probably the most fun I have had, driving my Merc! I'm sure Eric enjoyed it too!!! It was real hard to hold back the tears when Eric's mom was talking to everybody before the run. Cause a mother shouldn't be sending off her son....it should be the other way around. I was honored to attend such a great memorial. His parents, and sister were really nice people. They appreciated everybody coming out...

I agree,John.....this should be an anual event.

I never had the pleasure of meeting him , but judging by the turnout and what I've read on this, He was a life that was trajectly taken to soon. I'm sure his spirit was at the cruise .

Eric was the kind of person that when you met him you sensed somthing different, a kindness, energy and passion that we only wish we could have ourselves. He touched a lot of people and I feel fortunate to have known him.

I think god, or whatever you call lifes higher power must have needed him so Eric was called home. I have been a little numb since he died but today helped; I finally was able to cry and say goodbye to him.

I miss you Eric but I know you were riding in the 36 with me again today. Thanks my friend. Perhaps I'll see you on the other side.

Thank you John! The cruise would have made Eric very proud, or to use his term, stoked and so RAD. Thanks everyone who came out to show their respect - what a wonderful day it's been!

    Openings in Heaven

Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pour through and shine down to let us know they are with us.

I wish I could have made it, but I had to wait for someone from Seattle.
