i should have listened to everyone about last refuge, but i had some time before i needed my bed so i went ahead and placed an order anyway. after six weeks and a myriad of excuses including it was sent then i mixed your name up with someone else and not sent. filed a complaint with paypal before the 45 day limit then norb called and said he could not make my bed because paypal took back the money,[ thought you told me it was made norb] and he would refund my money. took three weeks to get my refund back. norb is a nice guy that flat out can not run a bussiness and loses thousands of dollars by not getting parts done for people and having to refund the money. it all worked out for the good though as i built my own bed for under $100 in materials.

There have been so many pretty decent craftsmen that have gotten in over their heads as far as running a business is concerned. They need a manager.

Your thread ***le says it all so why prove you don't want to listen to thiose who know better?

  4. Forget you should have known better or the fella needs a manager or whatever.

There is a lot to be said about doing it yourself. You have certainly proven that it can be done at home and done well.

nice looking bed, fits the build perfectly.

Looks great! So how did you do it? Every time I do beads in a flat panel like that it puts a big bow in it. How about a walk through?:)

Cons talk like nice people, play to your empathy. I like it that most people still want to believe the best about Norby, and it speaks well of you, but . . . .

    More importantly, cool bed!!

  8. I have known of Norb thru sports car racing. He wanted some new magnesium Sebring kidney bean wheels from
us ( Vintage Engineering ) last summer, I didn't take a deposit because I wasn't sure of an ETA due to a back up at the foundry. Anyway, got the special order wheels done in February, and old Norby has been promising to send us a check at specific dates at least 5 times. The dates come and go, and he lacks the professionalism to call or email to explain. I have to contact him and it's always the same bs. Today, I go on the HAMB and see the overwhelming about of problems Norb creates for Norb with multiple customers. I have NEVER dealt with a bigger flake.

I've noticed that if a person calms down and REALLY puts thier head to a problem, they themselves usually come up with the solution.

I've also found out that the HAMB is so big, that if you question a dealer, chances are numerous people on here can advise you on a companys rep. RESEARCH saves time AND money.

Your bed looks great and you'll feel better telling folks you did it yourself. Nice job.

Last Refuge is a perfect example of a man who should not be in business for himself. He needs to work for someone who knows how to do business and how to treat a customer. He may be talented in metal bending but is obviously a very sloppy businessman. I bet his personal life is a train wreck.

There is also some character flaw with Norb too, that makes him continue to tell lie after lie just to keep his customer on the hook for a bit longer. How he keeps his stories straight must be a story in itself. But things have a way of catching up to these kinds of guys and sooner or later people just stop using them.

  13. If you could get all of that talent under one roof with a good business manager it would be something. It wouldn't last too long because the egos would blow it apart but it would produce for a while.

sounds like he is also a pathological liar. Might forgive and forget a few times, but not this many times.

I like the long engine compartment. It would look good with a straight eight.
