Ok, so lets think about this. Now I might ramble as I type but in the end this is all about us. Every person on here belongs here. Everyone is equal, some think some are better than others. Some show the way better than some, which is fine because everyone, place, board, needs that. So with that said, a stolen car from a HAMB member is a stolen car. Right? A HaMBER that has been flooded out is still someone that had something taken from them. Right? So why does one Hamber get sticky status on his flooded home and property and another Hamber gets the posting closed on his stolen car? Thats WRONG! Now no offense to Breeder, It ****s what happened to you and your property. It ****s about everyone else in your area that was flooded out. Mother nature and the Army Corps can be a pain in the ***. If I had extra money i'd send you some. I also think it's awesome what the fellow Hambers have and are doing to help out. Please don't think i'm being a bad guy here. I don't know either person that I'm talking about. In the end i'm just saying a Hamber is a Hamber. If went too far off the end here i'm sorry. Mike
Don't know the situation but a good point. I am sure there is a justified reason for this as every deleted post has been justified for as long as I have been here. Ryan or Kevin will chime in.
So far, I've been called a number of names and even got called and yelled at about this. Guess what? I didn't steal any cars. I'm not the police. I stuck a thread about both cars being stolen. That's all I'm willing to.
thanks ryan. i was bummed when it got closed and i couldnt find it immediately. instead of posting drivel about being sorry for them (which i am) all i wanted to do was offer up free and secure storage in the area if found, at least until the respective owners could arrange to either pick it up or since i have some friends in thier areas...deliver. thanks again, now i can send that pm
I normally do not like to get into these topics, but Ryan and the Mods have one hell of a tough job and from what I have seen do "one hell of a great job"! One that I would not want to be responsible for, so it's pretty simple to me, what they decide goes. I have no problem with that.
Every person here is not equal. Some dudes show up just to use the cl***ifieds and nothing else. Some dudes post "welcome from cleveland!" 1700 times. Some dudes who have more of a right to be here and contribute in their own way have 0 posts. Some dudes have been here ten years and think its a pro-street site. The at***ude of " fair is fair" takes away from some people who just need a break and got some help. So a bunch of people are generous and are helping breeder out. That rules. If we try and hold that generosity as standard and expected then it could get out of control and shut it down for anyone, ya know? I hope those guys get their cars back, and this place can certainly help, but it's not Ryans responsibility to.
I wasn't even thinking about you specifically when I posted this thread. I was just thinking about how quick some of the mods are to pull down a thread or close it. I certainly wasn't trying to be rude to you and hope you didn't take it that way. Mike
Yeah... It seems we are never quite able to hit the exact right number of minutes to leave a Off Topic Thread up. Its either gets deleted too quick, or it stays up too long. And either way, users are unhappy. ( I know, because we get P/M's about it ) We get them as we see them. Thats the best we can do...
When I was a small boy I watched a terrible fire consume a home with a lot of children in it. Two brave firemen ran in again and again saving child after child. After many heroic trips into the home and into the face of death the firemen could not get into the home any longer. Several children were lost in the home. One mother who had lost a child yet had many saved was thankful to have her children saved. One mother who had lost a child yet had many saved screamed and yelled and spat at the firemen for not saving her child. If these brave men had been absent, there would be no saved children at all.
No offense taking man! I get what ur saying! I lost a lot of pre 65 cars I'n this flood and so did several other hambers! Rp (kropduster) lost 4 52 Chevys at my house, ( Marcy) lost a 63 running 390 caddy motor she was going to buy, Steve ( louver dude) has a 392 hemi at my house that was, I'm sure filled with sand! I had several friends that stored stuff there cause they didnt have room, which I feel really bad about. Nome of these cars compare to the chenille, or camaro, I get where ur coming from though, and I'm humbled by the outpouring of hamb help! I'm just grateful I don't have to make the decisions on this board! Cause either way, your the ***! Baby sitting 140k hot rodders would b outta my league for sure!
I am a member of a few other forums and one of them in particular has a board for random ramblings where people can ask off topic questions and post random thoughts. It may be an idea for this place. It would **** for the mods to watch another board though it may help keep the main board cleaner. Just a thought. Jesse
