Tossing around building up a Lincoln V12. What ****** option will I have? Say it's a 41' Motor? Seems like most of the stuff I run across doesn't have a transmission with it.
I have a complete '46 with the OD trans still on it, and enough parts for most of a second one, plus axles, wheels, lotsa stuff- getting it to where you live could be a beyotch, however
Anything that can bolt up to Flat 8 will mate to the Lincoln V-12. Back of the block is all the same. I had one in a 37 Lincoln with a t5 speed. Cornhuskers makes several adapter options.
Where in Indiana are you? I have a Lincoln O.D. in pieces-it's somewhere between '41 and '48; side shift. All there but needs ***embly. Cheap.
I'm looking for a trans for my '41 V12 too... resqd37Zep, you mention that anything that will bolt up to the 8 will fit. I was just talking with a guy with a '51 3 speed, and he thought that early (32-48) and late (49-53) were different--is that correct? -Brad
He meant to say: Anything that bolts up to a '32-'48 Ford/Merc will bolt up to the v-12. Everything after '49 (except '49--'50 Merc) is a no go without adapters.
