    Guys,

I posted some tech on how to do a dropped axle with mechanical brakes about 2 weeks ago.

It seemed like since then it had been raining and cold constantly so I did not get a chance to get the car out and drive it.

Well the good Lord blessed us finally in Colorado with SUMMER TIME!!

So I finally got the roadster out for first drive of the year as a HOT ROD and some better pictures.

The last shots are it as a stocker when I bought it in Kansas and got the worn out Banger running for some fun in the snow.

Since the pictures I made a new wood floor and installed the new sterring wheel. I also spent several hours adjusting the mechanical brakes to get them stop decent.

    Enjoy the pictures!

  4. What did you do to get the rear end lowered, if you don't mind me asking?

Yes...definitely summer now! But this hasn't been that bad as far as previous winters go.
New floors in my Model A also...just in time for the Loveland Goodguys. Working on my steering wheel (Version 3.0) as we speak. Sounds like that is the theme in Colorado this year.

    Very nice job.

I didn't know I liked mechanical brakes until now.

And, this proves that "they're still out there."

If you ever sell this one, I'm slapping leather. It's got the look--and, of course, it runs.

My good friend who is dearly missed , Mikey ( R.I.P) taught me this ultra traditional trick.

'26-'27 Model T rear spring with a 1/4 spacer on axle shackle......$20 part and drops the rear about 3"

  10. Thanks! I put an ad in the wanted section for one for mine now.

    Beautiful roadster!!!

I too am on the lookout for a T spring for my late 40's inspired hop up. I found a perfect spring at a recent swap, but it was insanely priced...

    Thanks for the pics!

  12. Yep, did that in my old coupe and current A roadster. Slick trick!!

I have a model T spring connection here in Colorado and they are cheap, so I may try to pick up a few extras.

BTW: Me and my old man took the roadster for a spin on the dirt roads Sunday, what a blast!!!

    He loved it!

One of the absolutely coolest, prettiest Model A's I've seen in a very long time. Hope my A-V8 roadster turns out half as nice!

    Yep, it was at Bonneville.

It was an awesome experience using it as a push car for the Fred Lobello Belly tank-Lakester.

I will post some pictures of it once I get a minute.
