So a little over a week ago I went and picked up and Edsel. Paid s**** price for it. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=604180 While we were talking, he tells me the wagon is for sale too. So we came to an agreement on a price. I told him I'd have to come back for it. I went and got it yesterday. I was gonna flip it but It is pretty darn good so I think I may fix it up too. He said it was running and driving when he parked it there. He's taken some parts off it for his wifes t-bird but still pretty complete and engine is not stuck. I can turn it over by hand. It also comes with a ***le dated 86.
Cool find. If the outside headlight rings are in good shape, everything else, fenders and such, (maybe with the exception of the chrome on the front fenders) should be easy to find. The headlight rings are rare as hens teeth, and if you do find them they're $$$$$ Cool car
Is there a good source of parts for these? I need a few things like some patch panels for the front floors, doglegs for rear doors and bottoms of quarter panels. Interior is in fairly good shape. Need a headliner and front seat reupholstered. Engine bay is missing some things. Looks like it needs the smaller radiator tank that sits on top, distributor, t-stat and housing. May need more but those are the parts I readily notice as missing.
Very cool find, I'm working on getting a 1958 Edsel Round-Up 2dr Wagon that's been setting for decades. Good luck with you project. Dave
