er... well... I'm in the process of installing a second flurescent fixture (neon) in the shop and I just realized I've never connected ballasts before...

Am I right in ***uming that fluorescent would be wired differently than incandescent? (in parallel -A- instead of in series - B-):

Surely somebody can point me in the right direction?
I'm in the dark, here... :)

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

***uming that you are hooking up the AC portion of the ballast.

All the fluorescent lights I have installed, each ballast had it's own power leads. Hot to black and Netural to white. So I would say "A"

I'd go with A. You could also do this by wiring hot(black wire) to the black lead of A and neutral(white) to the white lead of A. The run additional lines from black ballast A to black ballast B and white ballast A to white ballast B.
Same thing, really. Make sure you've got the right fuse or breaker in for the size wire you are using-20amp for 12 gauge and 15amp for 14 gauge. Don't forget the green grounding wires, either. Are you running cold weather ballasts? Won't make a difference in wiring but sure makes a difference in light output til your shop warms up. Also if you're in and out of your shop but will be back in less than 2 hours,it's more energy efficicent to leave the lights on than to turn them off and on again.
