Great work. Nice details with the exhaust coming through the frame. I wouldn't chop it. I believe that would relegate it to the 'm***' appeal and lose it's uniqueness. r
Rod looks great and I do dig them Electrolines on the car!! I also dig the way the exaust comes out the side SWEET!! great job!! It's all in the details
Thanks for all the compliments!! It's gonna be hard getting anything done. All I do is sit and stare at it. Since the cat is out of the bag I'll show some pics of how I did the exhaust. It's a cut-out with a pipe plug up inside so I can uncork the nailhead. The exhaust flows towards the cut-out in hopes of it sounding really good. Clark
Curbspeed...yes the front crossmemeber is drilled. One of my little elfs (nappy) did it for me. I'll get a pic of the headlight stands. Nothing special. Just a headlight bar cut down and welded to the frame. Clark
Yeh...gonna do Hershey Friday then the Showdown Saturday. Sunday a bunch of us want to go back to Hershey all covered in mud just to see what kind of laughs we can get. Clark
G R E A T work Clark !!! I know I say this every time you post some progress pics but this is simply what it is.The cutouts in the frame for the exhaust are too nice and the car has those *****in't details all over.I really can't wait to see it finished. This is definitely going to be another milestone Deuce Coupe.Your car gives me goose bumps...wow !!!
Here's a pic of the headlight mount for curbspeed and a head on shot. I know the hood is on right but at times it looks like it's running up hill. The head on shot makes me feel better. Clark
clark - could you give some info on how you achieved the stance? ie. mods done to front crossmember (if any), dropped axle and the kickup in the rear? i like how it sits and the hood is neat, great job. also, i cant tell just by looking at pictures but what is the wheelbase?
Looks nice. I'd like to get a look at the rear of the frame if you haven't already shown it. Looking for ideas...think I'll be starting a ch***is this winter and it would be nice to have the plan completely worked out before cutting.
Jeez some guy's have all the talent. The coupe is lookin' killer clark. I like the cut outs, can't wait to hear them. later shawn
...An East Coast car is channeled and un-chopped, however, I like the chop you have planned for yours. Besides, yours isn't channeled either. See ya Saturday Clark? I have pics for you. Spike
Plan9...I sorta just did what I had to to get the ride height I wanted. It's got a 4" dropped axle with the springs mounted to the bones. It does have a 4" kick in the front. My car is only about an inch lower than Fatabone's car. His doesn't have a kick but has a lower spring. The back on mine and Fatabone's car are about the same. My kick is an inch higher than his. I'm not sure but I think from the bottom of the frame to the bottom of the kick up is 13 inches. The back half of the kick up is homemade. It kicks back down so I can put a trailer hitch on the back. You could save some time by not kicking it back down. Check out the post on Fatabone's car it has some bare frame pics and will give you an idea of what the frame looks like. Grim...is this for the Bville car? Being a post ***** there were a lot of pics. If you can't find them I'll send you some. Clark
I'd like to see them Spike. I am amazed how you can capture shots that look so cool but are **** I see all the time in the shop. Clark
Clark, I'm amazed that you can take **** I see in your shop and make it into something I like to photograph! Mutual respect I guess. I'm actually amazed at any fabricator that can build something from nothing. I just don't have those skills or the patience to learn them. I do like making things, but I lack the tools or the time. Anyway, heres a few pics.. Spike
Hey Clark, It does look good. I've said it before and I'll say it again "CLARK IS A ROD GOD". Thanks for the help yesterday. With a little luck and the rims you found me, mine might breath some fire this weekend. Longhair has been a lot of help so I guess I have to stay his *****, but if you have any openings maybe he'll trade me to you.
Sorry....I'm not a huggy kind of guy. There's a funny story behind those headlights......just ask scarylarry Clark
