Well I didn't read the rules to the cl***ifieds page and needless to say posted there without permission and got banned from looking at the cl***ifieds.. so my question is how long is the ban going to last? It's probably in the rules at the top of the cl***ifieds page, which I can't look at because I'm banned. It seems inconvenient, but I suppose I should have read them in the first place instead of just ***uming that there was no rule against posting on the ads. Thanks in advance for an answer.

Oh. Well that ****s. Thanks for the answer, though, at least I won't be looking every day.

Settle down Francis, I was just yanking your chain. I don't know how long the ban lasts, but it isn't that long in the realm of things. The important thing is that you learned your lesson and you won't do it again... at least I think that's the important thing. I could be wrong. The important thing might be that you clear your browser history after looking at ****. Or maybe it's something else.

Alright, thanks Ryan. Seemed a little strict for posting on an ad, but yeah, not doing it again.

No problem, but I meant when Rich said forever it seemed too strict. I understand banning for a week.

Wow, you're the first person who's ever listened to what I say. Can I interest you in a partially used can of Cheese Whiz? It's traditional as it was made before '64.:D

No, I think I'll p*** on any edibles made before '64... I like old cars, not a big fan of old food..

And the rules are worth it to view the cl***ifieds on here. One of the only places I know of where you can find a good old car for a few grand instead of some dufus who just got done watching Barrett-Jackson and knows for sure his '47 Ford is worth $100,000+. It's those kind of people who are killing the hobby, but luckily this site's here so even a 16 year old like me can experience real hot rodding, not throwing a turbo on a Honda and thinking I have the fastest thing out there.. we got enough of those running around.

How do I go about changing the price in the price box? I can't change it when editing. Thanks

You can't change it. You have to ask a moderator to do it for you.

  18. Speaking of cl***ified rules... I'm sure it's been discussed by people smarter, and in more control than I, and I know it's a bit of a sticking point with some, but:

Is there a way to limit the way that many abuse the HAMB by only using it as a cl***ifieds and never contributing to anything else? Maybe you can only post in the cl***ifieds if you already have a post count higher than 50?

The HAMB is a great place, and it's just kinda too bad to see some use it only for personal gain.

it's a two way street. these guys are selling parts that we want. as long as they follow the rules, i see no harm.

  20. Agreed. They are selling stuff that, most of the time, we want. But even the AutoTrader has a cost ***ociated in order to sell. I'm just suggesting that the cost to the seller on the HAMB is some contribution. It was just a thought.

The problem with this is very simple.
If someone wanted to "make a quick buck" on here by selling stuff.. they would find 50 threads to comment in, getting around your restriction.

Meanwhile, someone like me(notice my low post count) who is on here 4+ times a week couldnt buy something they needed for their vehicle.
I read alot, but I dont talk much unless I have something worthwhile to contribute.
Since all my previous project vehicles were late models, I dont have much to add yet... but I wouldnt like being alienated just because I dont have a big mouth on here.

I just posted an ad in the Misc. Items for an Antique Pinstriping Tool and it now has a flashing CLOSED sign. Did I do something wronge? The ad looks OK and the photos are showing up good, whats up?
    Thanks, Frank
