Suggestions for creative drivetrain ideas for my 1927 T roadster pickup project!?

    The 470 merc also came equipped with a stater rather than an alt to free up more crank hp. Since the stater was constantly "putting out" these engines were prone to frying regulators - which were water cooled!

    Dawford, got an extra 4 inch heat exchanger layin' around? I could use one of those.

    For the 27 project - I too vote for the slant six.

    Buick 263 straight 8 with a 2x2 manifold and a t5 ******. Is my vote.

    X2! My first thought also. As a bonus it would actually look and sound like a hot rod engine.

    1927 Ford four cylinder with planetary transmission. That would really make some people scratch their heads, especially in something built in a '50s or newer style.

    I always thought it would be hilarious to buy a Fad T and swap in a real T engine, trans, and rear axle.

    Mercruiser 4 cylinder, the one with the big ford v8 head.

    Looks like an Offenhauser when you strip off the tin junk.

    Olds or Volvo with side pipes.
