Well it took a couple extra days past my self impossed May 1 deadline, but tomorrow we're going to take the sedan out for it's maiden voyage. This will be the first time this body and frame have been on the road since 1951. Before we hit the road I have to install to windshield and filler peice. I hope I can sleep tonight, It's been a long year and a half. Here's some pics.....Mike

You have a lot of patience. I would have taken it out without the windsheild.

The dash looks very nice and clean in your car. looks like it was made to be there.

I agree with Clark. Good job on the dash. I like the car a lot. I'm glad it doesn't sit too low. I looks like a good, practical, well built hot rod. Nicely done.

  13. Love the "mean car" look with the headlights on.
If I saw that in my mirror I know I'd pull over and let you pass.

    Nice work!

  15. Hey Mike..., you did a Great job....!!!!!!!!

You don't need no stinkin glass if you wear "Goggles"...!!!

But I would suggest either covering the Wood seats or at least sanding them down to reduce "Splinters" on your maiden voyage...!!!!!

Looks killer! I would have taken it out right away, now you have all night to sit and think about if you tightened all the bolts!

I didn't get any digital pics cause I was driving but I had a buddy video tape it. Can someone convert it to digital?

Anyway It went well, no shimmys, no shakes, drove straight, brakes work, clutch worked. I need to adjust the shifter(hangs up a little). I'm haveing a hard time getting it to idle down(idles at about 1500-1800rpms). Should I work on the outside 4 carbs so the butterflies close completely? I'm thinking if I get the butterflies completely closed and turn the idle screws in all the way and just use them for fuel dumpers I should be ok right? Seems like it is running lean, like it's getting to much air. I have 50 jets in all of them.

For all that were wondering about the inserts I made for my headers and how loud they were, well it's pretty loud. I haven't tried putting steel wool in them yet so I'll let you know what happens then.......Mike

    Vacuum leak(?).

  28. "Yes"..., to your thoughts and you may have many vacuum leaks if the throttle shafts are worn....!!!!!!

You shoud be able to Idle and run your car just using one or both of the center carbs if you have a "Common Plenum"...!

The outer carbs should engage at higher RPM's using a progressive linkage..., but you do need to stop the vacuum leaks first.

Call me if you have any questions.
