Well, I have this 8BA flathead I just got, and now I bought a collection of Olds Rockets. So, should I sell the flathead and go with a Rocket? I dont know what to run in my T. Flatheads rule, but a Rocket would kick its ***. What do you guys think? Whats a flathead worth, and who wants one?

I see less cars with the Olds Rocket motors these days... Faltties have gotten really popular.

The only down side w/ the Olds is the starter location.

A Ford in a Ford sounds nice. You'll definately be in the minority when thinking of it that way.

:) Flatheads are the coolest motors on the planet regardless of how popular they are..... Next to hemi's of course..:D
At shows here... your lucky to see 1 car with a built flatty or any flatty for that matter.
It really depends on what your trying to achieve.
Do you want a late 50's to 60's style hotrod?
or are you looking for a 40's through mid 50's rod?
Of course..you probably didn't expect anything else from me. Pj

SBC would be the cool choice, they are cheaper, stonger, look cooler, parts are plentifull, and you'd be going against the herd.
Everybody thinks they are cool just because the run an olds or flatty

Boy, you need to get out more.

  16. If it was "the coolest T ever" with the 8ba will it be the second coolest with an Olds? Just something to think about.

what exactly cons***utes a "collection" of Olds Rockets?

not many motors sound as sweet as a well built flatty

but for seat of the pants brute torque go Olds.

    I'm biased too

  27. Nice we got ourselves a drag race.

How many rockets you got? I am thinking I might try to trade my running flatty for a running rocket or a caddy mill.
