Hey Guys, Thought I'd finally introduce myself. I live in northern Virginia, just outside of Washington D.C. Pretty much grew up here, although I was born in the mid-west. Almost 37, married with two little girls: 5 and almost 2. Turned wrenches for 10 years, and have spent the last 11 working in software development. I started lurking here last fall, when I got the bug to build a hot rod. I've owned 50 or so cars, but most of them have been 1968-1970 GM A-bodies (mostly Olds and Pontiac). I read through a ton of the threads, and educated myself as best as I could before I decided what kind of car to get. I decided on a 1942-1948 GM coupe, and found a Chevy to buy in February. I actually joined as a member then, but wanted to wait until I actually went and brought the car back before I introduced myself. Well, I am going to get it this Saturday, so I figured I'd go ahead and say hey. Here's a couple pics of what I've got - 1948 Chevy business coupe. Looks to be a pretty good starting place. I'll be taking it to my buddy's motorcycle shop, where I'll start working on the body immediately (I gotta make it look better before the wife sees it ). Once I get started, I'll post a thread on it so that I can get opinions from everyone as it progresses. -****gy
Thanks guys, glad to be here! The car is currently in Fredneck (Frederick), MD so moonshine is definately not out of the question! I've literally got thousands of Triumph images, especially pre-unit ones, all for a website project that I have never had the time to finish. Here is a pic of a bike I build a few years ago, mostly out of spare parts. Kinda wish I hadn't let it go: -****gy
