Howdy. Having trouble finding the right oil pump drive shaft for my yblock. Neither my oil pump, nor my distributor have hexagonal drives, but the hex drive shafts are all I can find.
My distributor and oil pump have tabs that should fit into a notched shaft, or maybe an adapter. Anyone have any ideas?

sounds like a lincoln y block

  4. You have the '54-early '55 tang/slot style of drive... after that production changed to the hex style.

So far as I am aware, the early style is not available new.

Check with Mummert for a used one as Lost Hope listed in his second link, or the board listed in his first link....someone will have one, they are not uncommon.

cool, thanks alot guys. I think my stuff might be marine stuff (the 4bbl intake I took off had no water neck.) Does the later marine stuff use the tang style drive?
