I'm a greybeard and started models in late '50's,early '60's. I agree with most of the above. If you go to the Ala Kart and come foreward in time tom's '32 on the cover of Hot Rod, then the XR-6 were the tend setters for me. Tex Smith and the xr-6 lit the fire that still burns in me 50 years later. The zztop car brought in the wave of '80's and that generation of bling. But TEX is still the MAN.
Old threads never die, just hide for awhile LOL. Most of the cars mentioned above come to mind, but the one that got me started on hot/street rods was the silver roadster that ****era built and drove cross country. That car has always been up there for me.
