I have a 55 chevy 2 dr post, The car has front disks and a lincoln 9" rear with disk brakes. I am running hooker fenderwell headers, so I need a manual master cylinder. Does anyone know what master cylinder I should use? Do I need a proportioning valve? THANKS
I would use a Classic Performance parts master cylinder. You do not need a proportioning valve and it is adjustable on the master cylinder. I is a very good one to use. Here is the link to the details of it. Hope this helps you out http://www.streetperformance.com/pa...products-inc/1304-mcpv-1-master-cylinder.html
what is wrong with the MC that was on the car? it is a big bore MC (vette) no you do not need a proportioning valve. i have ran many cars set up just like it was set up when you got the car from me. the 57 chevy i bult is set up the same way with the same MC everything
Big bore is not used when going for a non power set up. They appling pressure to the calipers will be less. 11/8" bore no no, 1" yes.
The MC on the car should be fine. I am running on set up the exact same way on my 57 and having no problems.
