    Hi Aaron

Just curious, why your grandfather was never cited for the accident ? Also, did Dean's family ever file a lawsuit against your grandfather ?

Maybe because Dean was excessively speeding.

he was never cited and no lawsuit was filed because it was proven @ the time not to be my grandfathers fault.

Thanks for replying. It was always reported that your grandfather never publicly discussed the accident, but did you ever hear him discuss it in the family ?

That, and the post-****ysis of the crash data and police reports indicate that Dean was not at fault for the accident, as he had the right-of-way.

I was thinking just now, Does anyone know the whereabouts of that ford?? It might have collected some of dean's porsch's car. But then I read that letter earlier from Turnupseed that he restored the car. Where's that Ford??

Aaron, my name is Neil Sheehan. I purchased your grandfather's letter and photos to his friend while he was in the Navy. I bought them from an Auction in Dallas when the James Dean Gallery was selling their lot of Dean Memorabilia. If your family is interested in getting copies of these photos and the letter I would be more than glad to get you some. I understand this is the only time your grandfather spoke of the crash. The letter also has information on your grandfathers time in the Navy and some inscriptions on the back of the photos. Feel free to email me at neil@standbyrecords.net
