HI: O.k guys I hope you can help me with this one. O.k. I have a 31 model a tudor sedan delux and I want to know what to do with it. I was told I have to take all the bondo and the primer off and seal it before I seal it. And I have patch panels on the part right after the door on both sides. And r welded on and the beads don't match and the primer on the drivers side back qtr only what do I do do I weld the bead to match the originals. I have the inner fenders on that's ok but the bead for the door that's not on the car yet. And I welded the bead for the rear qtr fender bead on the body. I have the full door patch both sides and just past the door between the door and the beads don't match. I don't know what to do with it do I take the patches off and have some one re do the beads or do I just leave them on the car and weld the beads to match the original bead. And what do I do with the bondo and primer do I leave the bondo and the little bit of primer on and seal over it. I was going to sand or bead blast the car inside and sme of it on the outside like the fire wall. I need help with this just tell me what is right I've been told to differant things. So any help Please reggiedog.

  2. I am not sure what you are talking about. By beads do you mean where the patch panels were welded on? if that is the case they don't need to match anything you are going to grind them off anyway.

Or do you mean that the patch panels are not on straight? That being the case they will need to be removed and put on right.

When you are talking about bondo work is the bondo thicker than 1/8" like in really smeared on thick? they being the case you should remove it hammer the dents out and then just use enougn bondo to smooth it.

Your sealer will be put on over the existing primer.

Maybe a picture or two is in order. A picture is worth a thousand words.

Also if you separate your thoughts into paragraphs your writting will be easier to follow and you will probably get a better response.

Now before the bleeding hearts jump on here the remark about the paragraphs is to help the young man and not to dis him.

descriptions are great but leave a lot to interpretation...Pictures are worth a ton of time in asking questions to get on the same track

this is the internet..and pictures are the best way to show people what your talking about

It's the bead on the patches them selves they are smaller than the originals by about 1/8" to 1/4" I don't know what to do with them do I weld them to match the originals or what do I do with them.

  6. bondo them up so the bead is the same as the original, takes a lot of time but can be done

being i did bodywork for a living [very poor living] i am not afaraid of using filler

Best to make your own patches with the proper beads. Not really that hard to do and you would be happy.

I have NO tools to make my own beads no bead roller. I do want to buy one but no MONEY there about 3600.00 Dollers the one I want that is I wish I had a money tree but I don't and I'm disabled. I wish I had a rich uncle or some tng like that but they don't give those things away for free or even a good buddy but nope that has one. I just can't come up with that kind of money right now. But I do want to buy one some day I do have some part's for the model a that nobody maks right now but by the time I can afford to but one some body will have aready made the part's that I want to make repo's just don't look or even fit like the originals do. I wanted to buy a used one a few years ago but couldn't find one at all. So here I sit and I can't stand bondo I know you have to use bondo on the body to get thing's wright but I don't use it for any thing like this that's why I'm here asking what to do with the beads. I can't make my own and some of the beads are all ready on the car. if I could I would not the right tools or know how. But has any of you guy's took a repo patch and just weled the beads to match the rest of the car the car is a 31 Tudor Delux. And I don't have to replace all the beads on the car so you would notice all of the new patches so I have to do some thing with them to get them to match. Please let me know thanks how and what to do with them. I need to know soon I'm going to start the bead repaire in about two weeks. thanks
