Been lurking here unregistered for months, but now I need help with confusing ford part numbers and this forum seamed the right place. I have a 1959 Ford Ranch Wagon with a 223 and 3 speed overdrive manual tranny(t-86 r-10),3.89 rear gears, runs good but the speedo drive gear, driven gear and governor gear got wiped. I bypassed the gov. to a switch on the dash which works good but need to get the speedo working again. Cant seem to find anybody that knows what the part numbers are for the gears are!I have a shop manual but no parts book, If any one has access to the numbers that would be great. Here is a pic of me and "that rusty piece of shit" as the wife calls it!

As the drive gear is metal and the driven(on the cable) is plastic ,are you sure it's not just the plastic gear or cable. newer Ford C-4 may use the same gear.

It's the drive gear too, I looked in the speedo hole and it's worn in a concave shape. I believe the governor gear is steel also and the lack of lube in that area took it's toll.

Just as a note to future searchers the part numbers that I ended up with are

B7A-17285-C for the steel drive gear with 7 teeth

C1DD 17271-A for the plastic driven gear with 20 teeth.
