my wife gave me one for xmas a few yrs ago. made about 10 cuts with it and it burned out the cuircut board. chicago electric or some ****.i aint gonna but another one . JUNK.as is most china ****.

I caught a sale and used a coupon for a very good deal on a central electric from HF. I also purchased the replacement extra insurance. Good thing. First one lasted a few days, got another. second lasted another few days, got another. Third one lasted the duration of the project and took some abuse. Sat about 3 weeks and failed on the first cut. Got another. That one was DOA, got another. Fifth one has been around here getting used regularly (average 2hrs cutting a week) for nearly 2 years now. No problems what so ever with that unit. If they all worked as well as this one no one could complain and the compe***ion would have some serious issues to worry about. But they don't & as far as I know its a fluke to get a good reliable unit. The torch and consumables are manufactured by Trafimet and easily available if ordered by trafimet part #. Try and order by machine and you're going to get the 1000 yard stare.
Bought a used plasma from a local welder for 200 bucks,I ***ume its chinese I cant remember the brand. Its awesome tho,He barely used it. I have it plugged into a 110 v 30 amp and it cuts up to 1/8 with no problems. I need to put a different plug to use it with 50 amp and it will cut through 1/4 inch. Best 200 bucks I didnt spend on zoo ****
Had a friend who bought a chinese tig recently, the salesman told him it was the ducks nuts, evidently as you would expect it was a peice of **** and wouldnt even weld alloy properly. Salesman refused a refund or a swap for another machine so short of taking him to court he was stuck with a peice of junk and had to buy another elsewhere, we all had a go with it and no one could make it even look like welding so once again reinforces the old saying that you should buy a reputable brand and steer clear of that cheap immatation chinese ****.
