This is my 1956 Packard Clipper. I'm starting to bag it and swaping to a '70 Monte Carlo front end. Using BOP 455 and BOP 350 tranny. Considering a possible chopped top. Any thoughts?

I'll have a bunch of parts left over after i get done, so if anyone needs anything just let me know.

  2. A lot of people will tell you not to chop it...but they're the ones who have seen bad chops on em'. Do it right and it would RULE!

Great start. Keep us filled in.

Once you chop, there's no going back! Try a photo chop, then make your decision.
Love them 55/56 Packards, wish I had the time and money for one!

Is the motor Buick, Olds, or Pontiac. The motors are all very different and don't really share anything more than distributor, rotor, carb, the odd plug or so. Inquiring minds want to know?

I had wanted to section mine the height of the gap in the trim. It is gone now, though-kept the motor but I just didn't want to deal with the suspension quirks. The roofs are strange. the rear has a real high crown to it. If you chop the roof, make sure to shrink the crown.

i think tonybones hit the nail on the head, chop it right and it would rule, BUT...

that thing looks awesome just the way it is, but slammed. i would rock that car unchopped.
    either way, you can't lose.

I love it man! Hell, I love them both.

Kryptic, put a fresh set of Chrysler wires and wide whites on that car, leave it slightly crusty, and ROLL IT just like it sits! (Packard wires don't look right)
