anyone know if a front bumper off a 41 desoto will fit a 40 plymouth 2dr coupe. If so, what bumper brackets should i use and were would i find a set. Having a hard time finding front bumper and brackets for 39-40 plymouth but did find a front bumper from a 41 desoto.

The car has nerf bars up front currently but would like a real bumper.

I don't know if you got an answer to your question but I thought I would take a shot. The 41 desoto front bumper has a nose where the 40 Plymouth bumper is relatively jus a slight curve. I will try and attach scans to show the two bumpers. The mounting brackets are similar in appearance but they have different part numbers so I ***ume that means they are different in configuration.

I have a bumper that I am working on identifying that originally I believed was a 40 Plymouth. (see pics) Now I think the ends curve too much. In pretty good shape but definitely a few dings. Any input would be appreciated on this one.

  3. I've got quite a few 1940 and 1941 bumpers, Plymouth Dodge Chrysler and Desoto. I found a rear I liked, haven't done the front yet. I have the bumper in the illustration with the peaked center, a bumper that is more of a wide V, a bumper with a dip down in the middle, quite a few different ones.
I might be sorting out which bumper I use soon, but I am west cost Canada, shipping might make it not worth it...?
