After finding out about this show, I knew that I couldn't let it pass me up without sticking my head in the door. Even though I didn't make the event in my wagon (Actually, I didn't spot that many rods parked out in the street as it was anyway.), I'm still glad that I went. There was lots of cool art to see. There were definitely some talented artist there. Even Hamilton made the event and had some of his plaques for sale. As I'd already promised to take my girlfriend out to eat later, I didn't chow down on any of the barbeque that was offered. It looked pretty damn tempting though. Overall, it was a nice friendly little gathering. If you didn't make it, here's a few pics of what you missed. And, in case you spot something in one of the pics that you just gotta have, the gallery will be open today from 1 - 5 this afternoon. Here's what all I saw. About the only rod that was there beside the Chupacabra's rods in the building was this little Model A coupe. Then I went on inside the garage area. Then we entered the gallery where all the action was. I'll let the pics speak for themselves.
Before leaving, I stepped back out into the garage area for one last looksee. As Anne & I walked back to our car, around the corner from the gallery/garage I spotted this old Texaco sign. I'm surprised that the Chupacabras haven't nabbed it for their place! Bottom line, thanks Chupacabras for hosting this event. I had my eye on a piece last night that I may have to sneak back down today and unload off of ya!
cool stuff in the "museum", and nice gal. But really, Chupacabras? Never heard of them, but gotta admit its fuckin genius. Love it. What kinda cars they have? Hot rods?customs?lowriderrs?
I wish it was the real one! Just my recreation. The shirt on the magazine cover was originally done in the early 60s by Roth Studios and I believe it was actually painted by Roth.
Gee, I'm glad you like my pix 'cuz I really enjoyed taking 'em. I'm certainly glad also that I made the effort to swing down and check everything out. A big thanks to the Chupacabras for hosting this event. I'll definitely make the next one!
This is the kind of little gathering I like also. You never know what you are getting into, then you get to hob-knobbing and shootin the shit and it all comes together as one hell of a relaxing fun time. I really enjoyed the show you shared with us here. The warmth in the photos makes me feel like I was standing there, I like your style.
Ahah..seeing your logo (the one on your avatar) actually makes me think its not the 1st time i hear the name. Anyways, im all for a little horror/scifi contamination as long as it dont get silly. I really dig the monster mask w/ the helmet w/ the button up visor, alien invasion 1960. Your airbrush art is pretty impressive too btw. i thought they were the real deal too.
