Event Coverage 2011 11th Annual Cruisin' On Main

The cruise is once again postponed due to weather. It will now be September 18th. Good news with that is it wont be so humid and sweltering! Now lets pray for some sun!



the 2011 Cruisin' On Main event is coming up! It is held on the large vintage Main Street in Manchester, CT. This is the 11th year for this event and it keeps getting bigger! It is scheduled for Sunday August 7th with a rain date of August 14th. They have an age cap at 25 years and earlier. Spectator hours are 11am to 4pm. Cars should expect to arrive well before 11am and follow the entrance maps on the website. Show car registration opens at 8am.

If you are unsure of where to go; just head for Main Street in Manchester and the police and event staff will direct you where to park. Show car gift bags and such are handed out to the first 1,000 cars. Their many sponsors also hand out trophies to the winning vehicles of the show. Trophy awards are handed out at 1pm. Last year; there was over 2,500 cars from restored Model A's and T's, vintage tow trucks and fire engines, g***ers, vintage racecars, cars from the :20's, 30's, 40's, 50's, etc, and of course...many hot rods.

Entry fee is $10.00 per car for a local charity.

This is the northeast's LARGEST single day downtown car cruise. Mark your calendars and bring the hot rods.

I was at my brothers restaurant (Br*** Key) in Manchester yesterday for breakfast and they reminded me about the event. I may even drive my coupe down.....

 

awsome! we went last year (although nto in the Plymouth because it wasn't running yet) and had a blast. my first ever time there. Good food, lots of cool stuff to look at. Hopefully the weather is nice!

Back to the top!- the show is this sunday! Right now they are forcasting the possibility of morning showers with clear skies and sun for the afternoon. Hopefully the showers don't amount to anything more than sprinkles! Keep in mind if they cancel due to poor weather; the show will be August 14th!!!

well they rescheduled it for this coming sunday and theyre forcasting rain again. its still a week away so that could change. fingers crossed!
