Hi all. Just bought the rustiest 66 Econoline Pickup I have ever seen for a restoration project. it is only one of two I know of in the local area and it was only 5 blocks from my house when I found it. I am stil breaking it down to determine what order to fix it back up. I have restored a few cars in the past including a recent tub rebuild of a 70 CJ5. this should take my metal bending skills to the next level. will post a pic shortly Randy
promised a pic, here's some shots of the day I got it home. there is very little floor left in the cab or bed. I have torn down the front end and removed about a quart of bondo from the nose and around the p***enger side headlight. It was a 170 3sp but someone swapped in a 200 years ago. the engine is free and will probably run with a bit of effort. I plan on taking it back close to stock. possibly adding a 9" rear and a 240/300, just depends on how I like it with the 200.
not sure if you already know it or not. millsupply.com is the source for all available econoline replacement sheet metal panels.
Welcome, I had a 67 Econoline Van when I was in Fla in the Navy back in the 70's.. I remember the accelerator cable broke on the way home to ca had to subs***ute the choke cable for the accelerator cable,, put a pair of vise grips on the choke cable handle and made it all the way home. Have fun,,
