Does anyone know of anybody making a Z'd frame for a 26-27 T coupe? If not, which one of the Speedway T frames would best fit under a 26-27 T coupe? This is my first project so I am way behind the curve to say the least.
Are you thinking fenders or no fenders? Are you thinking of doing one of the heavily z-ed frames and channeling the body over? T frames are weak period. Use a Model A style perimeter frame and you'll be structurally stronger. Just keep in mind, building a Model T is kinda like trying to stuff 10 pounds of **** into a 5 pound sack. There's a lot of "stuff" that needs to find a home within the frame rails (especially if you're thinking standard transmission). Plan everything out carefully and don't do any finish welding until you know everything fits.
No fenders and don't want to deal with channeling, SBC with a turbo 350, ford 9" rear, just looking for the simplest set up to use since I have never done one before.
HAMB member " House of Fab " made the frame for my T coupe. There's pics of it in my build thread ----> http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=454143
I used one from 'Speedway' on a 27 T-coupe a few years back and was very satisfied with it.. They have 2 wheel bases for T's.. You want the long one.. If I remember correctly it was 114" wheelbase.. I bought it with front end, motor and trans mount and rear end mounts.. Was very reasonable worked out well.......
Go the the Hamb Vendors Section and check who gives discounts with an Alliance Membership. You'll get a great (not a stolen~excuse me~"copied") product and usually you'll save more than what the Alliance Membership costs.
