Hey you reprobates. I am going to be in Bonneville taking photos for Speed Week. I am broke as shit but I love the flats and the racers.

I am planing on tent camping and using the showers at the truck stop. I have done it before and certainly don't mind.

If you are gonna abandon a perfectly good room you had to pre-pay for I could take some great portraits of your team and car in exchange for your room key. If you are camera shy I could pay a little something for your vacated room!!

Check out my work at http://cimarron.zenfolio.com

    See you on the Salt.

    Thanks, Terry Raven

If you are a photo pro and broke like you say, why dont you stay at home and earn an living like the rest of us? How about this: GET A REAL JOB.

There are lots of fun things I have wanted to have and do in life, but putting beans on the table and clothes on my familys back was more important.

  6. I really enjoy loosers who don't bother to check anything out before mouthing off.
Either of you idiots check out his website?

Several trips to the salt and a couple hundred pics including some very nice shots of HAMBers cars is enough evidence that Terry isn't just some guy looking for a handout (besides he said he already has a plan to camp)

Nice work Terry, I look forward to seeing 2011's shots

Okie Randy - how about you get someone at your "REAL JOB" to help you write a profile

My sarcasm got lost along the way.
I did check his website & yes, lots of great pics. Terry obviously knows his photography. I can relate to being broke as well. Just seemed to me his approach was off.

    Pretty weak damage control IMO.

How about "I'm sorry for being an a$%&le"

Nothing to do with damage control.

I'll take a free or discounted room for Speed Week too.

My apologies for any ruffled feathers

  14. Dang, guys.

I was hopin' to read down through the posts and see 4 or 5 HAMBer's chiming in with some compassion. Then I could've said "See, HAMBer's are a great bunch! This is how we do it! Rodders helping each other out!"

I guess i got shown. Pretty disappointing if ya ask me -which I know, you didn't.. But why crack on the guy? Seemed like a simple enough request. If ya ain't goin', or not willing to help, why not just click away? Good on mcphipp and woodienut anyways...

I think he worded is plea a bit wrong. I'm not exactly rolling in loot but I'm heading to Bonneville. In a 31 year old RV whose freezer will be packed with $1 tv dinners. I sold off some stuff to get the entry fee together. I think I have enough gas money to get there. Not certain about getting back but I'm sure I'll figure something. This economy is tough. No harm in asking about a room.

Don't understand raggin on a starving artist...why not move on if you don't like what you read? Too much energy used being negative...take that and turn it into something positive...you may find yourself at Bonneville instead of working that same ole boring day job you've had your "hole" life. When I get my RV roadtripper together you're welcome to ride out with me Terry and catalog the trip. I think it's a great idea. I might let you wash some dishes, change the oil, or other barter for trade stuff. Anyway, hope you enjoy one of the greatest automotive events the world has ever known. Humm...does the movie "World's Fastest Indian" come to mind and how "Bert" made it from New Zealand and back on little more than friends he met along the way and his meager savings? Oh well, now where's that grinder...got to be around here some place:D.
