Working on a model A pickup hot rod project. I ran across this box and the price was right. However its missing the tailgate. It'd be much easier finding the original tailgate that modifying one to fit. Anybody recognize this box ?

'35/'36. Looks like a decent bed,but it might not be suited for an A project as it's a little big for those smaller cabs. Doesn't mean it won't work out for you, but you might consider turning this over and finding an A bed... The one you have is a difficult piece to find and might bring more money than an A bed will cost you.

  3. Nope....Its a 35-36 International pickup bed, note the square top rail, Ford and GM used a rounded top rail, Very similar to my 34 IH bed..

I don't mean to argue but I believe it is a 35-36 Ford bed. I have one just like it, helped take it off a 36 ford pick-up, and it has square top rails. Also looked at Google images and when you can tell, the Fords had square top rails. Only the Chevy's had round top rails, during those years.

Here is a link to Mack Hils Products, they make quite a number of repro pickup boxes and parts.
I know their paper catelogue used to show pic's which was a great help to ID stuff.
I did see these pices on the website, but a little look around may find something useful or a email or call to their office maybe worth the effort.
