Event Coverage K.K.O.A - Salina in July...Who's Going?

Hey Fellas i'm not gonna be able to make it this year and i have 2 rooms reserved at the Howard Johnson in Salina for thur. fri. and sat. night. Before i cancel my reservation i thought i'd see if anyone was still trying to get rooms. Be happy to transfer the resv. to a fellow HAMBER. Pm me and ill give you my number.

We are heading down for the drags on Fri. and the show on Sat. It will be my wifes first year and my second year for the show, she will be looking for some ideas for her merc. cant wait, is there anything posted about happenings after the drags friday night. get togathers, bar scene, garage tours or the like.......Scott

Open house at Calvins Customs on Santa Fe, in the 200 block i believe, it's just south of the RR tracks on Santa Fe, can't miss it. And the usual parking lot party at the host hotel.

 

I'll have to find you Thursday and get some photos before the crowd hits, that ride looks awesome !

Got a call from Charlie, the guy who bought the Edselero. He will be driving it out to Salina. I can't believe it's been gone two months already. If you see him, say hi, he's a real nice guy.

My good buddy Lou Calasibetta left NJ yesterday for Salina. He's driving his 64 Grand Prix I painted a few years ago. He and his son John are driving solo, so if anyone else is driving from the East, keep an eye out for them.

I'm still working on the putting some Kustom touches on the Caddy, but I'm heading East on Thursday morning finished or not.

 

Kurt, we are leaving at 5 AM Thursday morn...you're welcome to run with us...

If anyone is interested I can set up a gallery on my site where we could upload pics from everyone's trip to Salina & if you give me the details on where they were taken (or have your phone's GPS on when you take pics) we can watch the paths come together on a map. Maybe that's the inner nerd in me coming out... pm me if you're interested in playing along.

 

Travis, that sounds cool. I am leaving Friday after work (4:30) and will try and drive straight thru. It's about an 8.5-9 hour drive for me.

any of you guys running down hwy 77 from the lincoln nebraska area down into kansas? im headed to maryville then after some lunch over to salina. wondered if id spot any of you on the way down

 

there's going to be a small group of us leaving Marysville KS friday moring around 8 clock.

 

big joe in the 52 sedan delivery and long bones in his 29 model were headed that way friday morning wish us luck
