what diference 3/4vs1/2 ton chevy 55???

    finally found a good candidate for my next project 1957 3/4 ton, body and frame is same than 1/2 ton only difference is suspension?????thanks for reply!

    I don't believe there were any 8' bed half tons in '57. All the 3/4 tons were long beds. That means that the wheel bases are different along with the box length. The wheels and hubs are different-the rearend is a full floater.

    Frame, suspension, brakes, and rearend were different. The cab and front sheetmetal is the same. Chevy says the beds on the 57 was the same length as the later ones, I think it was just the 55-56 that were 7.5' on the long bed half ton, but they did have the 123" wheelbase.
