40 Ford front brakes. I used to buy 18 1/4" front hoses from Little Dearborn, but they no longer sell them. Does anyone have a part # from a hose they have used? Give or take an inch. Carquest/napa 7/16" 20 on one end and 1/4IFF on the other. Thanks, Rob
Not sure why you can't find 1940 ford front brake hoses. Rockauto has them.... RAYBESTOS Part # BH7600 Professional Grade Front Oh wait, maybe you meant you have 40 ford front brakes but need a different length / fittings... so what were you using til now? -- make and part number ?
I wasn't using anything till now, its a new build. Stockers are about 14". I need 18" to set it up like I want. Just trying to not spend an hour in front of the book at the parts store trying to find some. Rob
Thats if the pimply kid will even let you have the book, and dont get me started on anybody else that cant just pull a sbc starter for a small flywheel off the shelf....subscribed, I'll be in the same boat at some point with my front brakes.
The last Ford part number I had for them was A8TZ-2078-A. It was a later "universal" number that was derived from the original 91A number and found by chasing the number changes in a Ford OSI cross reference book. Get Ford counter man to verify the number and also, he can look up to see of any are left on any Ford dealer's shelf by using the AIM/TAIM system to check national inventories.
I just had 18" front hoses made for my F-1 at a local shop. Made while I waited (< 10 minutes) and price was $15 each, using Goodyear DOT hose and DOT-compliant fittings. Half the cost of Dennis Carpenter and the exact length I needed.
