Ford man that I am, I always did like the old Haybaler pickups. I basically just like old trucks. I'm especially fond of the styling on the late '30s/early '40s models. I like the styling of the K series (late '40s) models a lot too. Friend of mine in high school had what I think was a '52 (the cab with the dual rear windows). That thing was geared so low that it had to turn RPM's like a Winston Cup stock car to go 50 MPH, but you could put a ton on it and go up any hill around here in high gear.
My old truck I have owned for over 20 years and driven about 175,000 miles including a couple of HAMB Drags and lots of states. Rodshop
Just bought a 1947 KB2, and it needs a bed. Anybody know how an AD Chevy bed 1950 or so would look on it? They seem to be similar.
Hey - don't forget to check out the International boards, too: http://www.oldihc.org/ and http://www.binderbulletin.org/ If you have an International, these places are a MUST. ~Jason
HEY THANK.S FOR ALL THE PICTURES I think this truck was built in [37 38 39] but all my paper work is [40] I do have the small bullit lights turn signals that mount on top of the fenders I herd only for the 40's but not sure .
IH Truck, BinderRod is correct you truck is not a 1940, its a 1937. 1937 is the only year of the D's to not have a body moulding where the roof atachs to the cowl, on 1937's its smooth and leaded in there. Also 1939-1940's vin tags are mounted on the driveside cowl under the hood, where on 1937's and 1938's its on the firewall on the passengerside. There are other differences between the 1937/1938 and the 1939/1940/1941's in the cabs mostly at the dash and seat riser the most notable difference is in the beds, 1937-1938 are the same other then 1937 has a filler panel between the bed and cab where 38 doesen't and the 1939-early 1941 use a completey different bed. I have 10 of the D's so I know them pretty well. Ih's rule, i have had 62 scouts, 32 Trucks 1935-1974 and 3 Travelalls, currently have over 20 trucks from 1935-1970 and 5 Scouts. I'am currently building a 1937 D-15 and a 1942 K-2.
Your cab is a 1937 but your bed is diffently a 1939-early 1941 and 1940/41 are the only years with the small turnsignals on the top of the fenders, 1939 is the first year for safety glass. Maybe yours had a cab swap sometime in its life.
hey thank's TERRAIZER / GOOD INFO someone took all the tag's maybe when they put a nova front clip on I thought I could see where one may have been on cowl.
Hey guys I just seen this thread. And just today a friend asked if I needed any international parts. I think from your pictures they are 47 he has both headlight buckets with all the trim rings and the chrome piece on the front of the hood, it is curved with the logo in the middle. Plus a windshield frame with good broken glass. He wanted me to check on what year. And he might want to sell them, but I am not sure what they are worth...ghost
