Was that the one with the 39 Studebaker tail lights?

I'd like to see that car also.

As I recall from the one article I saw years ago, it was black. Could've been very dark blue.

I sure like the Coupes, i'd like to have a 53 someday, last year for the real Coupe.

(BTW, quite a few pics on this thread ARE NOT Coupes or Fastbacks) :p

Do you mean Wes Rydell's 4-door Fleetline that Chip Foose designed?

^^No, I'm familiar with the Rydell car (which is gorgeous, by the way). As I recall the Boyd car it was a '50 2-door fastback, generally stock grille and trim. Headlights frenched using '52-54 Ford rings. Unnecessary trim shaved, good trim saved. I can't recall the wheels, taillights, or any of the other details -- hence my interest in seeing pictures again.

Might as well add dad's car to this thread as well. 1952 Fleetline with 38k original miles. My dad has owned it since about 1981 or so, and like someone else said previously.... this is the car that started it all for me as well.

  26. ...here's a 49 (previously posted) I had a few years back...built it and sold it to fellow HAMBer and all-round great guy Scott Fowler from Zion, Illinois. As stated, Scott is wheelchair bound, hence the hand controls. Don't slow him down none, drives the wheels off this car!

Wow. that car is smooth man! I love the way you kept the side trim and that color is perfect for the car!

What hubcaps are you running in those pictures?

the caps are early 50s olds. The color isn't stock I mixed it up with some paint I had laying around and tada thats what I got. the side trim isn't stock its 53 ford. The original trim had deluxe on the side and it seemed too big for the car. thanks for the kind words.
